Nearest the pin 2005 (Sunday 5th June)

As part of the Leith Festival "Big Picnic" on Leith Links we ran a very successful "nearest the pin" event. There were 3 age groups - under 12s; 12 -18 and adults.

Between 150 and 200 people tried to get nearest the pin from a distance of 50 yards. Whilst many did not get very near, some were very close indeed, the closest being no more than 6" away !

The winners were :-
Under 12s : Alastair Benn
12 - 18 : Craig Downing
Adults : Hamish Miller

This was the first time we had organised an event such as this and it proved very popular - a great start to our week of activities.
