Challenge match versus Musselburgh Old Golf Club at Leith Links - 4th July 2007

On Wednesday 4th July 2007 we were delighted to welcome back their players for a match on the Links using Hickory clubs.

For the first time since these challenge matches started, the Society came out on top, by the margin of 3 matches to 1.

Our team captain, Brian Graham, summed this turn of events up by telling the players that he really did not know what to say , as he always had his "losing team" speech available !

Gus Gilchrist and Lionel Freedman lost to Colin Blyth and Jim Green by 1 hole

Ken Gordon and Eugene Bradley defeated Stewart Purves and Colin Whoriskey 3 & 2

Alastair Chalmers and Euan Chalmers defeated Eddie Whoriskey and Harry Hamilton 4 & 2

Jim Maguire and Kevin Dilley defeated Billy Finnigan and Stevie Hill 2 & 1

The best team score was from Jim and Kevin, with 38 for 10 holes, 2 over par. Next came Billy & Stevie, Ken & Eugene and Alastair & Euan with 40.
